Everton boss Moyes planning to swoop for Switzerland defender Lichtsteiner

Everton manager David Moyes is considering a move for Switzerland’s Euro 2008 right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner.

The Lille defender is available for £700,000. Lichtsteiner, 24, was a target for Real Madrid last month.

Moyes is also trying to persuade Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva to snub Panathinaikos in favour of a move to Goodison Park.

Fulham will step up their pursuit of Everton striker Andrew Johnson.
