The defender is finding first-team football hard to come by at Arsenal and there has been talk of him moving out on loan, although Moyes is now said to be considering a permanent switch for the player in the New Year.

His chances of regular first-team action at Everton also seem to be a little scarce, but during the opening months of the New Year Everton will lose Jospeh Yobo to the African Nations Cup for up to six weeks and Moyes will be need cover. Birmingham have also been linked with a move for the defender but a switch to Goodison Park may prove to be more of an attraction, although Arsene Wenger is unlikely to be in a rush to allow the promising defender to leave.
