Everton manager Moyes warns Yak not to slack

Aiyegbeni Yakubu has been warned he must maintain top form to see off the fierce competition for striking places at Everton.

The £11.25million club record buy has Bolton in his sights again when he leads the line at Goodison Park today.

"He has 11 goals in the opening half of the season and if he does that in the second half we'll be more than delighted," said manager David Moyes.

"We've got good competition, so if Yak switches off then someone else can come in."

Meanwhile, Bolton boss Gary Megson believes that Everton can only be surpassed by the 'big four'.

He said: "They are arguably the best team outside the top four. They must be to have beaten Sunderland 7-1."
