Everton midfielder admits Madrid interest

Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta has admitted he "would love" to play for Atletico Madrid one day.

Arteta, who joined the Toffees for around £2million two years ago, has become a key figure at Goodison Park but has conceded he sees himself returning to Spain at some point.

The 25-year-old, who has also played for Paris St. Germain, Rangers and Real Sociedad, told The Sun: "One day I will end up at Atletico. It's a club I like and I would love to play there.

"In football things start and end when one least expects them. If somebody had told me at the start of my career that I would have played in four different countries, I would have thought he was crazy."
