Ex-Derby boss Davies could make quick return with Cardiff

Billy Davies is in the frame to replace under-fire Cardiff City manager Dave Jones.

Cardiff have the joint worst home record in the Championship and Jones' job is again under threat after the midweek defeat to Charlton.

More Derby news

But Cardiff's High Court case against Langston, who claim they are owed £24m, has been postponed until January, making the club's short-term financial future uncertain. It may leave them unable to pay Jones off.

Davies was sacked by Derby last month.
