FA alerted to unusual betting patterns on League Two game between Accrington and Bury

Officials were contacted when a weight of money saw Bury's price tumble. The visitors had been available at 2/1 yesterday morning but by kick-off the best price available was 5/6 - and the Shakers went on to win 2-0.
Exchange firm Betfair saw over £281,000 worth of bets matched on the game. In contrast, just £20,000 was matched in the League Two game between Rochdale and Shrewsbury.
Mark Irvine, managing director of JAXX, the official on-line bookmakers for West Ham and Newcastle, said: "We saw a weight of money for Bury and from an opening price of 2/1, we had to cut their price throughout Friday to 10/11. The amount of money was unprecedented and unusual. We took the decision to suspend betting on the game on Friday evening."
He added: "For what amounts to a nothing end-of-season game, there was an unusual interest in it. Fortunately, we have not been hit as hard as some."
