FA Thai up new friendly

England will play Thailand in a friendly for the first time next year, according to the president of the Thai Football Federation.

Worawai Makudi said he recently met Football Association board director David Richards, who was interested in arranging an away game against Thailand - now coached by former England midfielder Peter Reid.

"He pledged to send the England team to play against us. Thailand will be the only destination on that trip," said Worawi. "I'm delighted we will get the opportunity to watch England for the first time."

The FA, who recommended former Leeds and Sunderland boss Reid to the Thai federation, was willing to help Thai soccer "in every aspect", added Worawi.
