Famous five is on the cards for Jefferson’s perfect Pete

Malcolm Jefferson's stable star has been a reformed character since tackling the larger obstacles this season.
Three of his four outings have been over fences and, on each occasion, the winning margin could easily have been further, such is the outstanding progression chasing has brought about.
Tomorrow's contest will be the eight-year-old's first attempt in handicap company over fences, but a mark of 145 doesn't look too harsh and Jefferson feels there is more to come.
Everything appears to be in According To Pete's favour as he loves plenty of cut underfoot and all nine career wins have been on left-handed courses.
Another big plus has to be the booking of jockey Phil Kinsella who has ridden the selection in two chases this term and won with ease both times.
The only slight negative would be the welter burden of 11st 11lb, but five of According To Pete's previous wins were achieved with in excess of 11st in the saddle.
Alexanderthegreat is an interesting runner but his last four starts have all been at Cheltenham, which is the antithesis of tomorrow's flat galloping track.
Venetia Williams's charge has made the frame in all three outings this season but, at the age of 11, Alexanderthegreat is hardly improving and looks vulnerable to younger opponents.
Big Fella Thanks represents champion trainer Paul Nicholls, but the yard hasn't been setting the world on fire in the last fortnight with only three winners from 15 runners and over half not making the frame, and Nicholls's representative here is certainly not one of Ditcheat's leading lights.
Laskari impressed when successful at this track last month, but that was over five furlongs shorter and tomorrow's three-mile trip would be a big worry as Paul Webber's charge has never won over further than 2m 5f.
Native Coral creeps into the race at the bottom of the handicap and could raise a few eyebrows at long odds.
However, According To Pete has yet to be seriously tested over fences and, with so many questions hanging over tomorrow's principal rivals, has a great chance of completing a nap hand.
