Fight clubs - Classic clashes between Liverpool and Chelsea

Chelsea v Liverpool has become something of a grudge match in recent seasons — mainly due to Rafa Benitez and Jose Mourinho's mutual loathing.

Relations seem to have thawed since Avram Grant replaced the 'Special One', but beneath the surface tensions remain. Here, Sportsmail takes a look back at the running feud between the two clubs.

Mourinho sour in defeat again, claiming Chelsea were the better side before pointing to his Premier League titles as proof.

Aug 19, 2007 (Premier League) — Liverpool 1 Chelsea 1

Gerrard accuses Chelsea players of intimidating referee after Rob Styles awards dubious penalty. The official, who has an absolute shocker, also appears to book Essien twice. Mourinho, predictably, refers to Liverpool's 'ghost' goal when asked about the penalty.
