Finishing top gives United the edge, says Beckham

The England international believes the confidence his former club gained in pipping Chelsea to the Premier League will drive them on to Europe's biggest prize when the teams clash in Moscow.
"I always think Man United deserve to win everything because I am a United fan," said the LA Galaxy midfielder, who will be watching the game on TV at his California mansion.
"They have got a great team, with great players all the way through it - not just their top players. But what helps is when you have already got some silverware under your belt. That really settles you going into a big game like this.
"They have got the confidence of winning the League. They have got the top spot which is a huge thing in England. They have got a big lift and I hope they go and take this as well."
Beckham played a crucial role in United's last Champions League triumph when his set-pieces led to both goals in the dramatic 2-1 success over Bayern Munich in 1999.
The United team that night in the Nou Camp included Ryan Giggs, who could feature again tomorrow. Paul Scholes missed that match due to suspension but United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has already said the midfielder will start against Chelsea and Beckham believes it would be fitting if his former team-mate ended up a winner tomorrow.
"Obviously, I grew up with some of the players in the team," said Beckham. "Scholesy missed out on our success in 1999, so he is one player you are really pleased for and want to see win now.
"It will be an electric atmosphere and having two English teams in the final for the first time makes it extra special.
"There is an incredible team spirit which flows with the history of the club and the fans deserve things like this.
"Without a doubt I will be watching nervously. We have got a day off from training so I will be sat in front of the television and hopefully watching United win."
