First start for Nownownow under Wacham set to be Guineas bid

Classic encounter: Nownownow
Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner Nownownow is set to have his first start for County Tipperary trainer David Wachman in the stanjamesuk.com 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket on 3 May.

Fab Oak Stable, who own the colt, moved him from America where he was trained by Patrick Biancone and then by his assistant Francois Parisel, who took over when Biancone was handed a suspension by the US authorities.

Nownownow was transformed when switched to grass in the States and arrived in Ireland for a conventional Classic preparation.

"The plan is to go to the Guineas at the moment," said Wachman.

"The ground over here is so bad we have not given him a race. He seems a very nice horse and it's a pleasure to have him in the stable."

Nownownow, available at 50-1 with Stan James for the 2,000 Guineas, beat Aidan O'Brien's Achill Island by half a length at Monmouth Park in October, with Jeremy Noseda's Strike The Deal back in fourth.
