Flynn the party pooper to deny Scunthorpe

Michael Flynn denied Scunthorpe their first home win since September with an 88th-minute equaliser at Glanford Park.

Keigan Parker's cross was side-footed home by Flynn to rub out a lead given Scunthorpe by Andy Butler's first goal of the season after 19 minutes.

Scunthorpe, who started the game just four positions above the relegation zone, looked to be holding out for the victory despite having defender Kelly Youga sent off for the second time in his last two games in the 71st minute following an ugly challenge on Stephen Crainey.

Scunthorpe had not won in their seven previous games, but they went ahead despite the best efforts of Blackpool goalkeeper Paul Rachubka, who looked to have produced a wonderful save to keep out Butler's initial volley in the 19th minute.

However, Rachubka could only watch as the ball looped off his hand and bounced over the line.

The hosts took control after Butler's goal and could have extend their lead before half-time.

Martin Paterson's curling shot forced an excellent save from Rachubka before Crainey produced a goal-line clearance to deny Butler his second from the corner.
