Adam Johnson’s a fan of six from the City

Adam Johnson is confident that Manchester City's core of English players can help the national side recover from this summer's disastrous World Cup campaign in South Africa.

City have six players in Fabio Capello's squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland and Johnson believes the Eastlands contingent will benefit England.

The former Middlesbrough winger said: "I think when you come away with England, to have so many
team-mates there with you is a big help.

"We've got a lot of English players at City and it's great to have the chance to gel with them, training and playing together every week."

The 23-year-old has impressed in his first two international appearances — against Mexico and Hungary — and believes the similar management styles of Roberto Mancini and Capello
can only help him in the long run.

He said: "They're pretty similar in their approach, I think in some ways the Italian mentality is different to the English attitude.

"There is an emphasis on the tactical side and the shape of the team. Obviously every manager has things they do differently but overall I think they are pretty similar."
