Albion ditch bid for Eric Djemba-Djemba

West Brom have ended their interest in former Manchester United and Aston Villa midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba on medical grounds.

Albion boss Roberto di Matteo was hopeful of landing the Cameroon international after opening negotiations with the 29year-old and his club, BK Odense, this week.

Djemba-Djemba watched Albion in last night's friendly at Doncaster but the club said today: "Following medical tests and further talks between the clubs, we have decided not to proceed with a deal."
