Andros Townsend signs Spurs new contract

Tottenham winger Andros Townsend has signed a contract that will keep him at White Hart lane until the summer of 2016.

The 20-year-old scored on his first-team debut against Charlton last season and has since gone on to make seven appearances for Harry Redknapp's side, mostly in the club's Europa League campaign.

The winger, who has had loans spells at Millwall, MK Dons, Ipswich, Watford, Leyton Orient and Yeovil, scored in his most recent appearance against Shamrock Rovers last week.

With his team now out of the Europa League, Redknapp said recently that he is keen for the pacy wide man to gain more experience on loan at either at Championship or Premier League level.

Two other promising youngsters, Jake Livermore and Tom Carroll, also recently signed new long-term deals at the north London club.
