Arsenal today completed the £600,000 signing of Thomas Eisfeld from Borussia Dortmund.
Standard Sport understands the 19-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Gunners after undergoing a rigorous medical at the club's London Colney training ground yesterday.
Arsenal's medical staff wanted to ensure the attacking midfielder had no lasting damage from anterior cruciate ligament damage suffered in 2009.
Eisfeld never made a senior appearance for Dortmund but scored six goals in 12 games for the club's Under-19 side this season and was due to be out of contract this summer.
Meanwhile, Ryo Miyaichi has joined Bolton on loan until the end of the season. The winger follows in the footsteps of Jack Wilshere, who enjoyed a successful loan spell under Owen Coyle before returning to Arsenal to continue his career.
The Gunners travel to Bolton tomorrow night boosted by the return to full training of Kieran Gibbs. The left-back has been out with a groin injury since October and could be in the squad for the Reebok Stadium but Saturday's home clash against Blackburn represents a more likely return date for the England international.
