Avram Grant wll make it tough for us, admits John Terry

John Terry admits he fears former Chelsea manager Avram Grant will stop him from fulfilling his dream of winning the Double tomorrow.

Chelsea will become only the seventh club in the history of English football to claim the title and FA Cup in the same season if they beat Portsmouth at Wembley.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are strong favourites to come out on top with their opponents having finished bottom of the Premier League, a massive 67 points behind them.

But neither Terry or Ancelotti (below) are taking them lightly, especially as Grant is in charge.
He was Chelsea boss for eight months of the 2007-08 season and inspired the team to within a penalty kick, which Terry missed, of winning the Champions League.

The 55-year-old has worked similar wonders since taking charge of cash-strapped Portsmouth in November by guiding them to wins over Sunderland, Birmingham and Tottenham to reach the FA Cup Final.

Terry is worried Grant could inspire his team to another Cup final upset and said: "It would mean the world to me to do the Double, it's never been done before in Chelsea's history. It is a great opportunity for this group of players to achieve it.

"But Portsmouth will be really tough. People will say that Chelsea are the big favourites but me and the players don't see it that way.

"We know Avram really well, he was at Chelsea for quite a while, but he has gone to Portsmouth and steadied the ship.

"They've shown a lot of pride and courage to do what they've done. To get to the final under Avram has been great for them and they will go there with a free spirit, hoping to win the game.

"I have spoken to Portsmouth goalkeeper David James and they are up for it. They have nothing to lose."

However Terry, who is set to start despite suffering a foot injury in training in midweek, feels the nation should want Chelsea to win because it will help England at the World Cup. He added: "If we can add the Cup to the League, we can take that momentum into the World Cup."
