Baldini to join Roma in autumn

England general manager Franco Baldini will leave his post after the Euro 2012 qualifiers to join Roma.

Baldini, who is a close confidant to coach Fabio Capello and works closely with the players, is taking a director's role in Italy and might leave as early as October. He could be rehired on a part-time basis for the finals and any friendlies before then.

Capello said: "Franco's been given a good opportunity by Roma but I am happy he will stay with us until after the qualification programme."
