Barnet chief's anger at Martin Allen

Barnet chairman Tony Kleanthous still cannot hide his bitterness towards Martin Allen, who walked out after just 19 days as manager, despite the relief of avoiding the drop out of the Football League.

Community development officer Giuliano Grazioli was left in charge for the last five games and engineered a dramatic revival, culminating in Saturday's 1-0 win against Port Vale.

Kleanthous was full of praise for Grazioli - "an absolute icon at this club, a real Barnet man" - but criticised Allen again today for abandoning the club for Notts County in their hour of need.

He said: "You know what? Martin is Martin - guaranteed to let you down at some point or other. I was disappointed but not surprised."
