Carlo Ancelotti says his lucky streak has kept Chelsea in pole position as rival slip up

Carlo Ancelotti admits Chelsea are lucky to be top of the Premier League.

Although the Blues have picked up just nine points from their last six games, they are a point ahead of Manchester United with a game in hand and three in front of Arsenal.

And while Chelsea's match at Hull fell victim to the freeze last week, United drew with Birmingham and Arsenal were held by Everton. Boss Ancelotti said: "I am a lucky man. Maybe, for a coach, it's better to be lucky than a good manager? United and Arsenal drew difficult games and we maintained our position at the top. This is good, but now we have to play and to win."

Chelsea host Sunderland tomorrow and Ancelotti said: "It will not be an easy game. Sunderland are a good team and Steve Bruce is a good coach."
