Caught on camera: Mark Hughes slides into Sam Allardyce

His Manchester City side may have made a smooth start to the new Premier League season but manager Mark Hughes found life a little more uncomfortable.

Following City's opening day 2-0 win at Blackburn, Hughes went in for the customary post-match handshake with Rovers counterpart Sam Allardyce.

However, the former Manchester United striker fluffed his lines as he lost his footing and spectacularly slid into Allardyce, ending up in a somewhat compromising position.

Hughes said after the match: "People were probably looking to see if we fell flat on our face and in the end it was just me.

"It's a good job I'm an athlete because I was able to keep my balance."
