Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock tackled by FA

The Football Association have written to Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock asking him to explain his criticism of assistant referee Trevor Massey following the club's 2-2 FA Cup fifth-round draw with Aston Villa.

Warnock demanded that Massey be banned after he wrongly awarded Villa a corner which led to Stiliyan Petrov's late equaliser. The 61-year-old has a week in which to reply.

The boss said: "They are not disappointed about everything I said, just the odd sentence. I'll explain the situation to them fully."
