Damion Stewart fractures skull but will be okay for pre-season

Damion Stewart will make a full recovery following his horrific first‑minute clash of heads with Crystal Palace's Calvin Andrew that left the Queens Park Rangers centre‑half with a fractured skull.

Fortunately, it was a small crack with some slight internal bleeding and the big Jamaican, affectionately known as Stew-Peas, should be out of hospital by next week and can look forward to pre-season training for the next campaign.

Stewart's plight on Saturday gave Peter Ramage the chance to switch from right-back and he said: "We dedicated the 2-0 win to Damo. He's been outstanding but I thought I did well and enjoyed it."
