Fans' tribute for Sir Bobby Robson

Kevin Nolan saluted the Newcastle fans who travelled to Tannadice to pay tribute to Sir Bobby Robson during the 1-1 draw against Dundee United.

More than 2,300 supporters made the trip, with the St James' Park club still in shock following the death from cancer on Friday of the former England and Newcastle manager.

Before kick-off there was a minute's applause as a tribute to Robson and the Newcastle fans chanted his name throughout.

Nolan said: "I think the fans celebrated his life because of what a fantastic man he was and of what a fantastic life he had.

"We were all in the dining room when news Sir Bobby had died popped up on television and it was emotional to see the reaction of the lads who had worked under him. It was a sad, sad day."
