Mark Viduka rules out playing in Australia

Mark Viduka has rejected an offer from Melbourne Heart to return to football and play for the new A‑League franchise next season.

The former Australia captain, 34, has been out of the game since leaving Newcastle last May and, having not officially retired, Viduka received an approach from his hometown side.

However, Heart chief executive Scott Munn said: "He said he's happy to keep chatting about other roles with the club but made it quite clear he is not interested in playing. He has his head in a different space now away from football."
