Neil Warnock makes Crystal Palace player pledge

Neil Warnock promised not to raid Crystal Palace for Darren Ambrose, Neil Danns and Nathan Clyne when he left them to join QPR.

But that doesn't mean there won't be a move for them in the summer.

Warnock, when asked yesterday about signing his former players, said: "For now, no, I wouldn't want to do that to Palace. But I'm not saying in the future ..."

Settling in at Loftus Road, Warnock remembers his first trip there with Sheffield United. "I asked Craig Short to bully a fellow called Les Ferdinand," he said.

"Craig never had a kick and it was Les bullying him. Craig came off shell-shocked!'
