Peterborough have appealed for fans to turn up at London Road with their own shovels at 7am tomorrow morning to save their clash with Championship leaders West Ham.
The club, who are 18th in the League, have decided to leave the snow which fell last night on the pitch to act as an "insulation blanket" and clear it in the morning prior to a 10am pitch inspection.
An appeal on the club's website said: "Your football club needs you. We need 300 volunteers, preferably with snow shovels, to report at 7am."
Chief executive Bob Symns added: "The pitch beneath the covers is playable. We're doing everything we can to ensure the game takes place."
Charlton boss Chris Powell was today named npower League One manager of the month after a run of four wins and a draw in January. Former Charlton boss Alan Curbishley, chairman of the judging panel, said: "It was yet another impressive
month for Chris.
"Charlton have shown great consistency this campaign and important victories over both promotion-chasing Sheffield clubs helped extend their lead at the top of the table."
Charlton midfielder Johnnie Jackson is the division's player of the month.
Former Spurs coach Chris Hughton, now in charge at Birmingham, was named Championship manager of the month and the League Two award went to Torquay's Martin Ling.
