Redknapp in dark over Darren Bent sale

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp admits he is in the dark over Darren Bent's future amid fresh speculation linking the England international with Hull and Aston Villa.

Bent was whisked off Spurs' Beijing-bound plane on Monday night to travel north and discuss a move to Sunderland.

It appeared a formal announcement of his signing with the Black Cats was only a matter of time but reports have now suggested Bent is also a target for Hull and Villa.

But Redknapp, who watched his side secure a place in the final of the Barclays Asia Trophy today with a 1-0 win over West Ham, revealed he has heard nothing further regarding Bent.

"I have no idea," he said. "I haven't spoke to the chairman for two days so I don't know where we are with that deal with Sunderland.

"When we came away it was very close but I have not heard any more.

"I'll speak with the chairman and see if anything is happening but if not then we have a terrific strike force for next season."
