Slade salutes his battlers

Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade hopes his injury-ravaged side's spirited display at Ewood Park will revive their League form.

Slade lost keeper Ben Alnwick to a groin injury just before kick-off - the eighth player and third keeper to be confined to the Orient treatment room - but was lifted by his players' performance.

Bottom-of-the-table Orient are without a win in nine League One games but Slade said: "Patched-up, I thought we gave a decent display. We need to address our League results and tonight was much more positive.

"I do think it's a matter of time before we do turn that corner, we're not as bad as where we are in the League. I'm very confident that we can turn it around."
