Former Arsenal star Overmars gets go ahead for Eagles comeback

Marc Overmars has made a stunning return to professional football - four years after he retired.

The former star quit in 2004 after failing to overcome a persistent knee injury.

But the Dutchman, who won a Premier League and FA Cup double under Arsene Wenger in 1998 before moving to Barcelona for £25million, has agreed to turn out for his first club, Go Ahead Eagles.

He said: 'I've not played professionally for four years but you can achieve a lot with strong will.'
