Crosas kept in touch with van Bronckhorst following the one-time Ibrox midfielder's successful spell at the Nou Camp - and admitted the Dutch star's input had been crucial to him making the move to Scotland.
'Gio told me about Glasgow and offered good advice,' said Crosas, on whom Barcelona hold a two-year buy-back option for £1.65million.
'He told me it is a very nice city and I would have no problems in adapting. He also said Celtic was a very good club who'd look after me properly.
'He advised me as a friend, not as a Rangers fan, and I listened to what he said.'
Crosas was presented to the Parkhead crowd prior to Sunday's 1-0 win over St Mirren and admitted the ovation he received from the fans was unlike anything he had experienced in his career.
'It was incredible to see 57,000 people cheering for me,' said Crosas. 'Now I need to return that support by playing well for Celtic.'
