Four England fans hurt as roof panels break loose in Sri Lanka

Four England supporters were injured today when the roof of a stand at the Asgiriya Stadium began to break up.

Several sheets of corrugated iron were ripped loose by the wind as Michael Vaughan's team tried to save the First Test.

Running repairs: workmen try to mend the roof

One person was taken to hospital for treatment after one of the panels hit him in the chest.

Three other visiting fans suffered cuts and bruises which needed attention at the ground's first aid post.
