Fourth gold for cyclists

Anthony Kappes and pilot rider Barney Storey secured Britain's fourth cycling gold medal of the Paralympics in Beijing today.

Kappes and Storey powered to victory in the B&VI one kilometre time-trial in a new world record.

Their win followed velodrome victories by Simon Richardson, Darren Kenny and Aileen McGlynn, while swimmer Sascha Kindred also clinched gold on day one.

David Weir began his bid for five golds with an easy heat win in the T54 400metres.

The wheelchair racer was second fastest qualifier despite free-wheeling for the final 50m.
