Fraizer at the double for Hull

22 October 2007
Sir Alex Ferguson was not amused and Campbell, among others, was sent out to learn his trade in the Championship. He could not have done much more for Hull on Monday night with two goals on his home debut.
Barnsley could have moved into second spot had they won emphatically, but that was never likely given Campbell's sparkling display.
The visitors could not cope with either his pace or his trickery. Just seven minutes had passed when Dennis Souza was made painfully aware of what kind of an evening he was in for.
Dean Windass slipped a superb ball behind the Barnsley defender, Campbell was on to the pass in a shot and nonchalantly slid home his first past Heinz Muller.
Four minutes later, Muller was equal to the 20-year-old forward, diving acrobatically to his left to save from close range.
But there was a buzz whenever Campbell was in possession and an inevitability of danger. In the 14th minute, he was hauled down by Souza when clear through and despite valid appeals for a free-kick and a sending-off, referee Andy D'Urso waved play on.
Injury was added to insult when the Brazilian then elbowed the Hull striker in the face, but again D'Urso was unmoved.
Revenge was not long in coming, however, arriving in the 18th minute. This time Campbell picked up the ball five yards outside the Barnsley penalty area, carved a path past Souza and two other defenders then beat Muller again.
Hull were in charge and Richard Garcia's low cross fizzed across the face of the Barnsley goal. Simon Davey's side offered little in reply.
David Livermore struck the woodwork for Hull with a disguised free-kick from 30 yards in the 50th minute, but a third arrived in injury time when substitute Stephen McPhee teed up Dean Marney, who fired home.
