Fulham Roy Hodgson is closer to sealing the signature of Rosenborg full-back Fredrik Stoor.

Fulham are trying to knock down his £2m asking price but may stop haggling and pay up as they want him on board by next week.

Stoor has played for Rosenborg since joining from Hammarby in 2006.

He was part of the Sweden squad that played at Euro 2008.

Stoor said: 'I haven't finished negotiating my personal terms and haven't undergone a medical, so I haven't completely reached the goal yet. But of course it feels great right now.

'This is very exciting and feels like a great challenge. This is the toughest league in the world. It will be hard, but I have the chance of becoming a regular.'

Fulham, who beat Celtic 3-1 in an entertaining friendly match at the weekend, continue their pre-season campaign against Busan l'Park on Wednesday night.
