Fulham in race to sign Konchesky

Fulham's transfer flurry continued as they targeted West Ham left back Paul Konchesky with a £2.5million bid to beat Birmingham and Manchester City to the defender.

He would replace Franck Queudrue, who is interesting Newcastle.

It follows the £3m capture of Southampton defender Chris Baird, the third Northern Ireland signing by their ex-international boss Lawrie Sanchez.

The Fulham manager will complete a deal for QPR winger Lee Cook by this weekend for an initial £2.2m, plus £500,000 on appearances.
