Geremi worried about the lack of transfer activity at Newcastle

Midfielder Geremi has begged owner Mike Ashley to get his chequebook out before the season starts.

Unknowns Jonas Guttierez, Danny Guthrie and Sebastien Bassong are the only new arrivals at St James' Park and manager Kevin Keegan has strikers Michael Owen, Obafemi Martins and Mark Viduka on the injured list.

Geremi told The Sun: 'We don't have enough players. We hope we are going to get more next week.'
