Gerrard and Drogba head Milan wishlist as Berlusconi orders clearout

Silvio Berlusconi's reaction to AC Milan's European Cup exit was an immediate edict to the club's European network of talent scouts: 'Get me the six best players available.'

The Milan supremo's wishlist is headed by Steven Gerrard and Didier Drogba and he is prepared to make Liverpool and Chelsea offers they cannot refuse.

Berlusconi has decided that a complete clearout of some of his ageing stars is necessary to put his club back on top of the European pile. Another notable casualty is likely to be coach Carlo Ancelotti — and that could give Jose Mourinho an embarrassment of options on his comeback.
