Giovani wants to go to Spurs, reveals the player's father Zizinho
02 June 2008
Barcelona forward Giovani Dos Santos looks set to sign for Tottenham later this
week after the player's father revealed a move is close.
Reports in Spain suggest the 19-year-old Mexican attacker - who has also been linked with Chelsea and Manchester City in recent weeks - will cost Tottenham a fee of
around £6million.
"Nothing has been finalised," former Brazilian footballer Zizinho told Mexican sports Daily Record.
Tottenham bound: Giovani Dos Santos is keen to sign for Tottenham, according to his father Zizinho.
"But it is an honour that a club as important as Tottenham want to sign Giovani, but nothing can be said officially yet."
Zizinho said his son is excited by the challenge lying ahead in north London.
He added: "Tottenham's ambitious plans have excited Giovani and he just wants to go there and help the team in any way he can.
"It is obvious that leaving Barcelona is a risky decision, but with his qualities it appears that it could be the best option for him."
