Grant in the hunt for a playmaker

Avram Grant has made a playmaker a top priority in the January transfer window.

The Chelsea manager, who is trying to make the team more attractive to watch since he replaced Jose Mourinho in September, has given more freedom to Joe Cole and other attacking players but wants extra creativity.

Bridge-bound? Ronaldinho has often been linked with a move to Chelsea with Roman Abramovich a long-term admirer of the Brazilian trickster

Barcelona's Ronaldinho has been linked but with four players due to miss more than a month at the African Nations Cup in the New Year, Chelsea are looking elsewhere.

Grant said: "I am very happy with the squad but you look to improve. We always look at possible players, such as those who are more creative."
