Grant wants a director of football

Chelsea manager Avram Grant wants the club to appoint a director of football - the role he filled at Stamford Bridge before succeeding Jose Mourinho.

Grant left Portsmouth to become Chelsea's director of football in July before taking over as manager two months later.

But Grant has no fears about a new man coming in.

"It would be easier for me," he said in The People.

"There are many things for a coach to do. The director can help him a lot. I know that from my time in that position at Portsmouth."
