The Manchester United defender is set to return to the first team to face Luiz Felipe Scolari's side at Old Trafford on Sunday after missing the last three weeks with a back problem.

Ferdinand loved getting the better of the blues in the Champions League Final and championship last term, but is hungry for more.

He said: "I'm just greedy, I want to win everything. I don't want any other team to have any success. I want to sit back at the end of my career and be proud of what I've achieved. If I end up with what I have now I will be very disappointed.

"When we won the Champions League I was already asking who we were going to buy in the party afterwards.

"I was nagging the then assistant manager Carlos Queiroz about who we were going to get, I really wanted to know. I was on to David Gill as well.

"Hopefully, we can get into the kind of form that produced last season's success."
