Greening: Mowbray has shown he wants to keep the Baggies up

West Bromwich Albion skipper Jonathan Greening believes the club’s bid to sign Real Mallorca duo Borja Valero and Oscar Trejo underlines manager Tony Mowbray’s ambition stay in the Premier League.
Newly-promoted Albion started the season as one of the favourites to go straight back down.
But Greening feels that a respectable performance in defeat at Arsenal on Saturday plus Mowbray’s activity in the transfer market may make West Brom’s doubters think again.
On the ball: West Bromwich Albion's Jonathan Greening holds off Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner during their Premier League opener at the Emirate.
Albion are closing in on Valero with Mallorca admitting the midfielder is set to sign a four-year contract and double his salary.
The deal, worth just under £5million, would be West Brom’s record signing.
Striker Trejo is still on Mowbray’s radar but the Argentinian may decide to stay with Real although talks are ongoing.
Mowbray also wants Charlton midfielder Zheng Zhi with Greening admitting players need to arrive before the transfer window shuts.
'It shows our ambition,' said Greening.
'The gaffer and the chairman have been saying they want three or more players before the end of the month.
'If we can get that calibre of player into the club then it can only help us go forward and settle into the Premier League.'
