The 27-year-old goalkeeper saved a first-half penalty in Wednesday night's 2-0 friendly win over the Czech Republic before complaining of pain when taking goal-kicks.
Boruc spent most of December on the sidelines following minor knee surgery and Parkhead manager Gordon Strachan will anxiously await news on the player's latest problem.
If any damage is diagnosed, then Celtic may opt against risking Boruc, with the first leg of their Champions League last-16 meeting against Barcelona now less than a fortnight away.
"I went down because my groin was beginning to ache a little when I was kicking," explained Boruc. "At this stage, I don't think it's anything too serious.
"The main thing was that we got a good result for Poland against one of the best teams in Europe. Even though it was a friendly, it was important for us to treat it seriously.
"I gave away the penalty, so I had to save it, although it probably wasn't the best effort Jan Koller has made in his life."
