Gunners fans set to vent their fury at paltry £25m transfer kitty

Arsenal fans will get the chance to air their grievances at another trophyless season to the head man next month - and they are certain to ask why manager Arsene Wenger will be given just £25m to strengthen the side.

Wenger may have escaped any flak but managing director Keith Edelman will not be so lucky.

The club's finance chief faces a grilling from the influential Arsenal Supporters' Trust on 12 May.

Chief talking point will be an investigation into the club's accounts by Trust treasurer Nigel Phillips, who suggests Wenger may have as little as £25million available for new signings.

Phillips claims the club's other spare cash — around £45m — is tied up in debts and outstanding transfer and player costs.

But an Arsenal spokesperson has dismissed the £25m figure as "speculation", adding: "Even if there was a figure, we would not disclose the amount."
