Gunners target Angel hoping to stay another year at Benfica

Angel di Maria, who has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal, admits he wants a move to the Premier League - but only after one more year at Benfica.

The Portuguese winger came close to signing for Arsene Wenger's Gunners from Argentinian side Rosario Central last summer but the 20-year-old midfielder, who has already been called into Argentina's senior squad, joined Benfica.

'For my first year in Portugal, I think that my performance has been good," Di Maria told El Capital. 'I had low moments, but finished the championship to play at a good level.

'I do not feel pressure, but I know that I have not shown my true value. I will show the real Di Maria next season.

'My wish is to spend another year at Benfica and then make the leap to England or Spain.'
