Hamburg lead chase for Chimbonda as Valencia drop out of race for Spurs man

Hamburg are set to step up their attempts to sign Spurs defender Pascal Chimbonda after Valencia cooled their interest in the Frenchman.
The full-back has dropped down the pecking order at White Hart Lane and looked set to move to the Spanish club this summer.
However, Valencia's sporting director Juan Sanchez has played down the speculation and said: 'We have made no move at all for that player.'
Keen: Hamburg manager and ex-Spurs boss Martin Jol is a fan of Chimbonda.
Hamburg boss Martin Jol, who was sacked by Spurs in the middle of last season, is thought to be keen on signing the 29-year-old.
But Jol is currently more concerned with keeping hold of star midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart, who himself has turned down a £15million move to Spurs.
The Holland international said: 'The interest has been there for some time already, but they (Tottenham) are not the club I want to go to.
'The chance that I will stay at HSV is really big. As long as no team comes by which makes me immediately excited, I see no reason to leave.'
