The 'Hitman' Hatton went eyeball to eyeball with his footballing pal Rooney after successfully defending his light-welterweight title in Las Vegas last week, but Rooney came out on top in what proved to be an epic battle.

The friendly took place at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas and afterwards 21-year-old Rooney was dancing round the room in delight, because he'd won a $100 bet from his buddy, reports The Sun.

It capped a thrilling weekend for the Manchester United and England star, who carried Hatton's belt into the ring before the Hitman's four-round thrashing of Luis Castillo.
