Hatton to quit next year, says his mum

Ricky Hatton has made a pact with his family to quit boxing next year, his mother revealed today.
Hatton fights American Floyd Mayweather for the WBC welterweight title here on Saturday and there is already talk of a Wembley showdown with Oscar de la Hoya.
But trainer Billy Graham is keen for Hatton to retire shortly after turning 30 and mum Carol wants her son to hang up his gloves before he gets hurt.
"It's the last lap of his career now. He's 30 next year and we all made a pact," said Mrs Hatton before boarding a flight to Las Vegas. "Two or three more fights. Because, after 30, your reflexes slow down.
"You've got more chance of getting hurt. He doesn't need the money now. So, get in there, get it done as quick as you can and let's all go home and have a party."
De la Hoya, meanwhile, is ready to take on Hatton at Wembley in front of 80,000 fans on 3 May, two weeks before the 2008 FA Cup Final. Hatton's lawyer Gareth Williams said: "The chances of the fight taking place are very strong."
