Heavy workout could be the making of Haye

It's been no sweat for David Haye to prepare for his entry to the heavyweight division tonight at Wembley Arena.

Not when he usually has to trim off up to two stone to get down to the cruiserweight level of 14st 4lb at which he will be contesting the WBC and WBA world titles against France's Jean Marc Mormeck later in the summer.

But first Haye wants to break into the WBC top 10 at heavyweight, which he will do if he beats Tomasz Bonin, a Pole whose only loss was three years ago to Audley Harrison, before the Olympic champion's spectacular fall from grace.

South Londoner Haye should run rings round Bonin with his speed, but he warned: "I've seen him take flush shots from 19st opponents and not be affected.

I don't expect to knock the guy out early. I'm not yet sure if I punch hard enough as a heavyweight to knock him out quickly. I have to break this guy down."
